Bladnoch 1991

[BLAD-noch]
Husets stil: Græsagtig, citronagtig, blød, af og til med en snert af banan. En klassisk lavlænder. Måske en maltwhisky til desserten?

Destilleriet har været lukket mellem 1993 og 2000
Fra flaskens etiket:
Connoisseurs Choise
Destilleret 1991
Tappet 2004
Fra Gordon & MacPhails side:
Region: Lowland.
Wigtown, Dumfries.
Founded: 1817
Water Source: Loch ma Berry.
Owner: Raymond Armstrong.
Status: Operational.

Notes: The most southerly of all the Distilleries is Bladnoch which stands on the river of that name at Wigstown on the Machars Peninsula of Galloway. This area is steeped in Celtic history and saw the beginnings of Christianity in Scotland.

Although the distillery does not operate the triple distillation process, it does produce a typical Lowland style of malt whisky.

Tasting note:
Colour: Light straw.

Undiluted
Nose: Lavender with citrus fruit notes. Some malty, cereal aromas present.
Palate: Sweet, floral and dry grass flavours. A spicy, liquorice note develops.

With water
Nose: Cereal and hessian with hints of spices. A delicate sweetness - milk chocolate.
Palate: Sweet and spicy - hints of cedar wood. The floral notes slowly emerge.
Body: Light.
Finish: Delicate with fragrant notes.
Cask Type: Refill Bourbon Casks.
Whisky Style: Classic Lowland malt, delicate with subtle aromas and flavours.
